Why Choose Powers?

From expert emergency and critical care 24 hours a day, plus advanced care by board-certified specialists in surgery, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging—Powers is a trusted one-stop partner not only to you and your pet and the region’s primary care veterinarians.

What sets Powers apart is our focus on collaboration. Our veterinarians don’t simply share space under one roof. We’re all part of a single, integrated team. As a result, every patient benefits from this multidisciplinary expertise—a tremendous advantage in diagnosing and treating complex cases.

This unified, cohesive approach promotes seamless, coordinated treatment across our entire practice. It fosters communication and timely sharing of information. And it translates into better care and service for your pet and you.

A Unique Model

As a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital, we’re uniquely equipped to handle almost anything your pet may need. And being centrally located provides easy access to those who come from near or far.

For those outside the immediate area, we have two other emergency hospitals that are open during nights, weekends, and holidays – Tri-Lakes Animal Emergency Care.

We work closely together and can transfer a patient to Powers for 24-hour hospitalization if necessary.

Special People, Special Pets

It takes an extraordinary commitment to be accepted to veterinary school let alone complete the training. Likewise, our veterinary technicians (nurses) undergo extensive training to become certified. It’s just this type of dedication you can expect from every member of our team. After all, we love animals too, and our purpose is to help yours.

Working in emergency and specialty medicine has its challenges – patients who can’t talk to us, lack of sleep, and adrenaline-filled nights, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for turning to Powers in your pet’s time of need.

AAHA Accredited - Cat in Woman's Arms

AAHA Accredited Animal Hospital

In 2010, Powers earned accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This is notable because only 15% of all small animal hospitals in the U.S. and Canada have earned this prestigious distinction, which requires a rigorous onsite evaluation every three years.

Unlike human hospitals, not all animal hospitals are required to be accredited. At Powers, we undertook AAHA’s stringent accreditation process because we hold ourselves to a higher standard—and you can trust that your pet is receiving care at a hospital that’s demonstrated mastery of excellence in veterinary care.
